I no idea why I am not losing any weight I go to the gym 4 times a week as well. HI I am 45 I was Duromine 30mg for 1 month. I exercised and ate calories each day. I drank 2 litres of water. My exercise was walking 8k a day. After 1 month I lost. I asked my doctor for a thyroid and blood test prior to taking the tablets and was told I didn't need to. AFter 1 month I went back to her and again asked for a thyroid test and blood test - again she said not necessary it's my diet and prescribed me 40mg.
I have kept a food diary and gone back livid with my doctor. This time she said "well I suggest you have a thyroid and blood test". My thyroid test came back as underactive My advise is to have a blood and thyroid test before you take medication..
Lolla over a year ago. Couldn't find what you looking for? New Reply Follow New Topic. Stopped after that as it didn't seem to work anymore? Then I put 3kgs back on which brings me back to 73kgs. I then lost 2. So I went to the local Dr. Who prescribed me Duromine 40mgs, I started the next , only got 2 weeks worth as I wanted to see how my body would react to them.
Day 1: I woke up at 6am took the tablet and fell back asleep, at am I woke up with a burst of energy didn't even feel like I just had woken, through out the day constant dry mouth, no hunger pains at all, energy went up and down by 11pm that evening I still hadn't eaten just drank water non stop all day long, nothing seemed to stop my dry mouth!
As much as I wanted to eat I tried to force myself to eat toast but couldn't at all. Day 2: 6am took the tablet, felt kind of scattered out and " out of it " didn't have as much energy as the day before, still dry mouth! Drank lots of water, I constantly feel like I need to "pee" but its like a busting feeling but go and its nothing at all?
I was able to eat a apple, 2 pieces of toast and picked at dinner later that night, around 10pm that night I felt hungry, but would try and eat and couldn't stomach it Day 3: Felt tired , took the pill at 6am but this time slept till ! Woke up, still very thirsty, not much energy, felt very dizzy and felt like I needed to be sick! I only ate a few oragnes that day and ate dinner as normal!
It feels like to me it stops working in the evening more towards 11pm.. Day4: I gave myself a break didn't take it this day, and it was like my body had no effect to the duromine all I wanted was food food food!
Day5: Took it at 7am, hour later straight up with a burst of energy, dry mouth same effects as day 1, also dizzy, felt weak but felt hungry went for a walk to burn some of that energy! Stayed in bed for all the afternoon after the walk.. But was able to eat later that evening.. Day6: 7am took it , slept till ish woke up felt normal only had a dry mouth, energy wasn't any different, ate subway for lunch 6inch and had dinner as normal no picking felt hungry still after?
Day7: 7am took it, slept till 9am didn't feel like eating today at the start, around 12 got hunger pains, at 3 apples, then later had 2 scrabbled eggs with tomato struggled to handle the smell or eat them just before forcing myself to eat them I was starting to feel sick, very very dizzy!
After I forced myself I felt like I was going to be sick, layed down and felt weak and tired for a few hours. Then for dinner and a small portion of it.. Felt hungry after but everytime I go to eat my mind sort of rejects it? I exercise morning and night and try to around lunch time as well everyday, I walk wherever I have to go that's not a massive distance! Below are a few questions to consider:. Phentermine is not a magic pill; it is a tool that aids in weight loss when used correctly.
If you want to experience lifelong results take phentermine with the expectation to change daily habits and food choices. As you continue to make these changes consistently you will transform your physiology and create a new weight set point in the brain that supports a lower weight. The effects of phentermine are diminished over time due to drug tolerance. Tolerance is when a medication loses potency over time after repeated use and as a result the individual experiences less response from the drug.
In the case of phentermine, reduction in thirst and insomnia can be beneficial; however, losing appetite suppression and energy is less desired. Phentermine binds to receptors in the brain and releases norepinephrine. The norepinephrine results in weight loss, however, over time these receptors downregulate reduce in number so that less norepinephrine is released from the brain over time. The overall impact is the individual taking the medication notices the results are less potent than before.
The amount of time that phentermine lasts varies based on the individual. Some people have no effect from phentermine, others notice the original impact wears off quickly while others will experience the same effect for several weeks to several months. What should I do if phentermine stops working? Resist the urge to entertain negative thoughts regarding your ability to successfully lose weight, this will only make matters worse.
If phentermine stops working it is not the end of the world. It's important to avoid the most common mistakes that individuals make when taking phentermine if you want long term weight loss success.
In addition to not freaking out, avoid restrictive diets, extreme exercise, or unsafe supplements. Your weight loss doctor is a great resource to walk you through what to do next. The dry mouth helped me drink more water, it was irritating but I kept taking the pills, the first month I only lost 3lbs, doctor said keep trying. I was exercising some, eating more chicken and fish, fruits and veggies but still not losing.
I went back after another month and again I had only lost lbs, again he suggested to keep trying. So I did. The third month, I changed nothing, still exercising a little, still eating the same, changed nothing I had done the 2 previous months.
After my first week into the 3rd month I started dropping weight and dropping it fast. I lost all my weight within months. Oh and only weigh yourself once a month, your weight can fluctuate during this time and can be very frustrating.
You have no idea how grateful I am you posted this reply. I was feeling so discouraged. Thank you. Thanks for the review. I started taking Phen The first 4 days was very weird due to headaches jitters and dizziness.
I stop eating snacks or drinking any beverages the day i started the Phen medication. So my body is either confused or freaking out as to why the host immediately STOP feeding it all those delicious rubbish that it has been accustom to eating all these years. Well on day 4 i started to feel hungry just a very very very small bit, but also i was not craving the food so i was in no rush to eat. I also had this irritating headache and dizziness that just could leave me alone, so i felt to beat the hunger i had a salad and bake chicken.
But that night i was still a little hungry so o had some more of the bake chicken. My PCP prescribed the first dose of Phen for 14 days and am on day 5. So i hope and pray that i get to lose weight just as you did.
Thank you for this post because I was getting discouraged because losing nothing, but feeling better. I need to just stay focused! You were a big help! I was on the 30mg for 2 months — no weight loss — my Dr bumped me up to the 40mg — been on these for 16 days still no weight loss.. I walk times a week for mins and I am GF and lactose intolerant so my diet is not a bad one.. I have dropped just shy of 40 in 3. It truly has been transforming.
After 3. The annoying side effects dissipated after a couple of weeks. I was neurotically consistent, taking within minutes each, under same conditions; kept a log using a lap timer.
Surprisingly, It took nearly a month before my weight started drop, then at a rate of about a week. Water and lots of water. Counted every damn calorie that crossed my lips-weighing everything with a digital kitchen scale linked to a phone app.
I started with taking any serving of anything and taking half away to save. I used the psychology trick of using a smaller plate. I then assessed the types of exercises I did. Previously, I was doing nearly exclusively cardio and got no where — in 4 mo I lost just 2 pounds which I attribute to new sneakers.
Cardio is good, no argument there, but it alone will NOT get you weight loss. This time, in consultation with a dr. In frequent contact with my dr, we have began a slow and carefully planned process of ending the use of Phentermine.
Even my sleep dr is thrilled; my sleep apnea numbers became so low, I was directed to stop using a PAP machine. I am stunned and elated at where I now at: replacing belts that are two big, replacing pants. I lost about 60 pounds last year by eating in a calorie deficit but I was still considered extremely obese for my height.
I met with a personal trainer weekly and still nothing. I figured I was just gaining muscle so thats why it wasnt showing on the scale. Finally I got irritated in July so my Dr recommended we try this medicine failing to tell me that it is addicting and that its an amphetamine.
So I took it every day like prescribed. I was so happy that I had lost 7 pounds but when I went to my dr appt last week, my dr said that I should have lost at least 20 pounds. So that shot my confidence down. I did lose 5 inches on my waist but he still expected me to lose more.
